Internship Philosophy

Our goal is to provide new veterinarians with a supportive, hands-on learning environment that builds clinical confidence, practical skills, and real-world experience in ambulatory equine practice.

Equipment & Treatment Modalities

Interns train with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic tools, including:

  • Digital radiography & ultrasound

  • 1m & 3m video endoscopy

  • Regenerative therapies (PRP, IRAP, ProStride, Alpha2EQ)

  • Laser therapy, acupuncture & shockwave

Internship Program Overview

Prerequisites

  • DVM degree

  • NAVLE completion

  • California license or eligibility

  • Three references

  • Externship or in-person interview

Practice & Caseload

  • 8–10 total staff (veterinarians, technicians & support)

  • ~5,000 ambulatory cases annually

  • Primary focus: sports medicine & lameness

  • Secondary exposure: general care & emergencies

Typical Schedule

Interns work five days per week with two full days off. Saturday and emergency coverage rotate alongside an attending associate.

The day typically begins at 8:30 a.m., with end times varying based on caseload.
